At this event, Professor Bill Bowring will discuss the the paradoxes of the right of peoples to self-determination: from Marx, Engels and Lenin to the Chagos Islanders Case in 2019, in the context of colonialism and the British Empire. The event will also explore why reparation for slavery is ever more relevant, as well as recent publications in OUP and Edward Elgar collections.
