When you book your place on the link above, choose the relevant ticket based for you School, and whether you are starting an undergraduate or postgraduate course. 

The Birkbeck Orientation Day will help you get the best possible start to your studies.

The event includes:

New students: The sessions are divided by School - check your School below. You will have the chance to meet other students in your School, and to receive a Study Skills session to help prepare you for the year ahead.

The sessions will run in the morning (at 9:30 for Postgraduate students and 10:30 for undergraduate students), and will repeat in the afternoon (at 12:30 for postgraduate students and 1:30 for undergraduate students). You should only attend one, as on your ticket.

If you are attending the morning session, you will make your way over to Senate House for the Careers Fair, Students' Union Fair and Student Services information. 

If you are attending the afternoon session, you can first visit Senate House for the Careers Fair, Students' Union Welcome Fair and Student Services information from 11am.

Returning students: Study Skills sessions will be run for returning students. Please choose the appropriate ticket on the booking link above. The session will start at 12:00. You are also encouraged to attend the Careers Fair and Freshers Fair - book here.

As well as the Saturday Orientation, new students are also strongly encouraged to attend your course induction event - find your programme induction event, or scroll down to the list of departments in the tags below.

We encourage you to attend both your programme induction and Saturday orientation day, to get the best overview of life at Birkbeck and ensure that you're as prepared as possible for the start of term.
