Making the most of your Birkbeck open event
Our open events give you the chance to visit our campus and hear from staff and students about what it's like to study at Birkbeck. We're experienced at providing a flexible approach to learning and, depending on your course, we offer a range of options - full-time, part-time, evening and daytime study, on campus and online - to help you decide when and how you study. Our open days and evenings provide the perfect opportunity for you to find out which option would be the best for you.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Open events
Once our welcome talk has introduced you to Birkbeck, our history and our flexible approach to study, you can choose from these activities to find out what it's like to be an undergraduate or postgraduate student at Birkbeck.
attend a subject talk
This is the most important part of attending an open event and something to prioritise when you visit. A subject talk will give you an introduction to your chosen area of study and help you to decide if the course you're considering is right for you.
Meet lecturers and students from your school or subject area
This will allow you to hear more about our courses from students who've been in the exact position you find yourself in, as well as staff who are passionate about their subject and can answer in-depth questions about their teaching.
Go on a campus tour
As part of the University of London, our Bloomsbury campus has a full range of high quality teaching spaces and facilities, set in a lively student-centred area of central London. Our campus tours will take you to see the facilities you'd use as a Birkbeck student including the Library, science labs and teaching areas, as well as the best places to study, socialise and eat!
Speak to Student Support Services
Whether you're joining Birkbeck from school, college or another university or returning to education after a break, the transition can be challenging. Our Support Services have a great track record in assisting our diverse student population in areas such as accommodation, finance, wellbeing and disability support.
Speak to Birkbeck Careers and Enterprise
Our in-house recruitment service links students with employers, enabling Birkbeck students to gain valuable work experience while they study. Our graduates are among the highest paid in the UK, five years after graduation. Use your open event visit to find out more about what your job prospects will look like during and after your studies at Birkbeck.
