Module description
This core module delivers in the summer term a structured series of classes on the specific research skills required to complete a successful MA dissertation. It is paired with the writing of the dissertation itself, which is double-weighted to reflect the time spent on independent research and study, and the length of the assessment (15,000 words). You will be asked to do a short presentation on your dissertation topic at the end of the course.

- Choosing a title/Choosing a research question
- Research methods: digital, library, archive and scoping a project
- Editing and revising
- Panel on current research, usually made up of current MA directors
- Panel or guest speaker on current research
- PhD current research panel
- Publishing skills
- Student presentations of dissertation projects
