• Prerequisites: CEFR C1 or equivalent, or CEFR C2 level if you have performed at higher levels of achievement
• Assessment: two pieces of coursework (10%); a project consisting of a 250-300-word proposal and an annotated 600-700-word bibliography (5%) and a 2000-word essay (25%); producing a radio programme as part of a group (10% group mark; 20% individual mark); a two-hour written in-class examination (30%)

This 24-week module, leading to CEFR stage C1 (Advanced) C2 (degree level)*, aims to consolidate your fluency and accuracy of language use, both in speaking and writing.

It introduces more advanced translation skills for which journalistic and literary texts are employed and takes you up to a degree level of ability. You will consolidate your academic writing in the language by producing a range of essays based on the textual analysis of films and fictional and non-fictional texts, including a research project.

You will improve your oral/aural skills through the completion of a radio project and use of authentic texts, films, TV and radio programmes and discussions and debates in class.
