Overview
- Credit value: 60 credits at Level 7
- Assessment: a digital design/digital management project, or detailed proposal of a more ambitious project (80%) and a 4000-word critical evaluation (20%) or a 15,000-word academic dissertation
Module description
You will have the opportunity to complete your own design or management project, or academic dissertation. This module will allow you to put the skills and critical capacities you have gained throughout the programme into practice through the realisation of a substantial project that will become a key feature of your professional or academic portfolio. While this module is largely a student-led independent project, you will receive guidance from a research supervisor through the various stages of development and will be given the opportunity to discuss your project with fellow students.

- Choosing, accounting for and justifying approach
- Developing a critical reflection of the process
- Bringing a project from conception to completion

Learning objectives
By the end of this module you will be able to:
- complete a research-driven practice-based project or academic dissertation
- manage a project through multiple stages of development, from conceptual planning to realisation
- learn how to incorporate research and a theoretical framework into either a practice-based project or a dissertation
- produce a substantial project or piece of academic writing for your portfolio
- work with a supervisor through various stages of proposal and feedback
- learn to accept and implement external critique, while also developing skills in critical self-assessment.
