Module description
Operating a successful hotel requires knowledge in all aspects of management and its operations. This involves strategic planning, effective decision-making and financial acumen. Effective strategies are important in improving financial performance and ensuring long-term survival and future growth. Managers face many challenges and must recognise the importance and impact of their decisions in order to run a successful hotel business.
In this module we provide you with an in-depth applied insight into the operations of a large-scale hotel through the use of an online hotel business simulation. The simulation will allow you to set the company’s strategy, and make business decisions drawing on key concepts and their underpinning theories to grow a hotel business. You will be required to critically assess scenarios to identify and solve operational and strategic issues that may have an impact on customer relationships.
