Module description

This module provides you with knowledge and skills in applied entrepreneurship, with an opportunity to develop a business plan to establish a new venture or introduce innovation (e.g. a new product/service/process/business/project development) within an established organisation. Hence, the module will be of value to future start-up as well as corporate entrepreneurs.

You will be trained to conduct research to evaluate customers, competitors, suppliers, and external and internal environments, as well as to co-create value with customers, and subsequently, to use the findings to develop a sound business plan highlighting a business concept, marketing plan, operational plan and financial plan.

You will have the chance to interact with entrepreneurs, and there will be guest speakers from industry.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will have:

  • developed a viable business plan for establishing a new business venture or introducing innovation in an established organisation
  • discovered and/or created opportunities to generate value to potential customers
  • conducted research necessary to gain in-depth knowledge required to develop a business plan
  • devised a marketing plan to generate value to customers
  • designed a plan to operationalise a business model
  • developed a financial plan for a business.
