Module description
You will work with your supervisor on the dissertation in one-to-one tutorials during the summer term.
In practical terms, you will be expected to produce up to 7500 words of writing for these tutorials. This can be a section of a novel, or several short stories, but not work that has already been marked as your assignments for modules. The aim of these tutorials is to help and guide you towards the writing of the dissertation itself, due in September of your graduating year. You will receive oral feedback from tutors and annotation on the scripts themselves.

- developed to a professional level the craft of writing in the short story or novel genre
- developed a greater critical understanding of contemporary literary developments
- placed your own writing in the context of developments in contemporary fiction
- developed to a professional level skill in editing of your own creative work
- gained a greater practical knowledge and understanding of the markets for fiction.
