Overview

  • Assessment: a 15-minute presentation with 4000 words of supporting material, a Grants for the Arts or similar funding application to support your future artistic activity and development, and a 30-minute viva voce examination

Module description

In this unit you will gather together and synthesise the various learning experiences of the course so as to deepen your understanding of the work of the director and to lay the foundations for your personal evolution as a professional theatre director.

Learning objectives

By the end of this unit, you will have:

  • an understanding of all the principal skills required by the professional theatre director
  • made a presentation to assessors (and others if relevant) that encapsulates your personal understanding of these skills
  • prepared written material related to the presentation that supports and sustains its argument and conclusions.
