Module description

In this module we examine the relationships between education, power and social and political change, with a focus on strategies for resistances by oppressed social groups within specific educational sites. Theoretical frameworks for exploring the formation of identities of excluded groups, and how resistances to power can lead to social and political change, will be introduced. This includes the notions of ‘praxis’ and ‘the radical imagination’.

The module will challenge you to re-examine your personal values and ideologies and to explore political and academic positionings around education, power and social change.
