Intermediate Greek

• Credit value: 30 credits at Level 5

• Prerequisite: Beginners' Greek or equivalent (Greek to GCSE standard)

During this module you will develop your knowledge of Greek grammar and widen your vocabulary, enabling you to master regular syntactical constructions and read standard Attic Greek texts. We will cover Sections 17-29 of Balme and Lawall’s Athenaze II.

By the end of the module, you should be able to understand all syntactical constructions covered in these units and demonstrate your ability by translating from Greek into English and from English into Greek. In addition to the coursebook work, you will study a short unadapted text and practise reading and translating Attic Greek texts at sight.
