Translation from and into French

• Assessment: a three-hour examination (60%), and coursework consisting of a 1000-word long translation and 800-word commentary (25%), and an in-class assessment consisting of six 200-word translations (15%)

In this module, we aim to study the theory and practice of translation from and into French, with an emphasis on practical tasks. Both literary and non-literary texts will be studied. Some poetry may be included.
