- Prerequisite: Research Methods in Management
- Assessment: a research project of up to 10,000 words (100%)
Module description
The independent research project provides you with the opportunity to:
- integrate and apply knowledge from the degree programme
- develop research skills
- study current management literature in a specialised area
- explore possibilities for empirical research in this area.
The project is a detailed piece of research analysis on a topic of your choice, supervised by a member of our academic staff. It includes a critical literature review and primary or secondary empirical work to address a specific research question (or questions) that relate to materials covered in one or more of the modules taken.
This will give you the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you have acquired on the course and to complete a piece of original research on a management topic.
Learning objectives
By the end of the module, you will have:
- selected a suitable topic and research question(s) for investigation
- conducted a critical literature review
- collected, described and analysed a relevant set of qualitative or quantitative data
- presented your findings in a systematic and coherent manner
- linked your findings to the literature covered in the literature review
- submitted a piece of work that is entirely your own contribution.
