Brain and Cognitive Development

• Assessment: presentation of a discussion article (5%), a 1500-2000-word essay (35%) and an examination (60%)

In this module we explore the relationship between brain development and cognitive development and how the development of cognitive abilities in infancy could be connected to processes of brain development.

• Methods in cognitive neuroscience

By the end of this module, you should be able to:

• present a clear picture of proposed mechanisms underlying developmental processes
• describe the key milestones in the development of children's thinking
• reflect critically on the link between brain and cognition.
