Module description
The MA Dissertation is a major piece of individual research, supported by one-to-one teaching. You may write on any AI-related topic that the School is competent to supervise and assess. Upon selecting your topic, you will be assigned to a dissertation supervisor who will be a leading expert in your chosen field. You are entitled to one preliminary meeting with your supervisor (to fix titles and devise reading lists), followed by up to three supervisions on outlines or drafts of your work.

- understand relevant texts
- understand key AI theories and arguments in your chosen subject area
- formulate questions with precision and clarity
- support and challenge theories by constructing arguments and citing relevant considerations.
- assess the strengths and weaknesses of a theory
- construct, analyse and criticise arguments cogently
- extract information from the presentation of complex material
- summarise key points from presented material
- analyse complex thought and argument.
