Module description

This module will help you to develop your self-reflective skills, to learn about art-based methodologies and apply intercultural awareness to your own life as a student and beyond university. As part of this module you will be supported to produce your own digital project, such as a blog, short video, podcast or digital poster, as well as writing a reflective account of your work-related experiences and learning. The module builds on modules at Levels 4 and 5 to support you to better understand wider communities of practice outside the university and allowing you to exhibit a greater understanding of, and involvement in, society as a result.

A key aspect of this module is its intercultural component which will introduce you to the fundamental principles of intercultural competence within a psychosocial framework and of ethnographic and auto-ethnographic research, grounded on developing self-reflective skills and art-based methodologies. You will develop perception and appreciation of different cultural perspectives and values and be prepared for the challenges of intercultural and cross-cultural experiences within organisational environments by developing practical tools that you can apply in diverse contexts in your future careers in health and social care.
