Sir Christopher Frayling is former Rector of the Royal College of Art and until recently Chairman of Arts Council England, the largest funding body for the arts in the UK; he is the longest-serving Trustee of the V&A, and Chairman of the Royal Mint Advisory Committee, which selects the designs for new coins. Before that, he was Chairman of the Design Council. Christopher is well-known as an historian, critic and an award-winning broadcaster. He has published seventeen books and numerous articles and exhibition catalogues on contemporary art, design, film and the history of ideas. He was an undergraduate and postgraduate at Churchill College from 1965-1971.

This postgraduate lecture is organised by the Department of History of Art and is open to research students in the School of Arts.
