Hands-on Masterclass in a Birkbeck IT suite. Dr Keti Lelo (University of Roma Tre and Honorary Fellow, Birkbeck) will lead a practical session on Historical databases and their use in GIS. This will be a step-by-step exercise with examples of historical data analysis and visualization.
In the afternoon, from 2-4pm, a series of presentations will take place on different projects that have used GIS: Professor Matthew Davies (SSHP) on Layers of London, Dr Andrea Ballatore (Geography) on Mapping the history and geography of UK museums”, and Dr. Keti Lelo on The Web-Gis of modern Rome. This will be in CLO 101 (Clore Management Centre).
