When: 22nd July, 1 - 2pm

Where: online

Panel:

David Friel, Managing Director, Entrepreneur Handbook; Professor Colette Henry, Dundalk Institute of Technology & Editor of International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship; Louis Edwards, Founder parlez; Reetu Sood, PhD student, Department of Management, Birkbeck.

Chair:

Dr Pam Yeow, MBA Programme Director, Reader in Management, Department of Management, Birkbeck.

This event was inspired by a question raised by a Masters student to the guest speaker in a lecture on business closure on the 'Entrepreneurship and Innovation' module. She asked David Friel, Entrepreneur Handbook, How do the demographic profiles of entrepreneurs and investors affect networking and investment opportunities for underrepresented groups such as women and BAME?

The underlying agenda was whether women and BAME entrepreneurs are disadvantaged by lack of engagement in networks and access to fundraising opportunities.

The panel of entrepreneurs and academics will debate the question based on experiences of entrepreneurship and academic research. It will begin will student, Lucy Clifton, asking the same question of the panel.

Please register to attend this event by 12pm on 21st July.
