Please join us for a taster lecture on "Entrepreneurship in Manufacturing and Service Industries".
Professor Daniele Archibugi (Professor of Innovation, Governance & Public Policy) will give a lecture, followed by a guest lecture and seminar from Melina Padayachy (Birkbeck Alumnus). Melina is an Innovation Strategy Consultant and author of 'The Innovator's Method: Bringing New Ideas To Markets'.
The session is part of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation module at Birkbeck which is compulsory for some postgraduate business innovation programmes. This event is open to applicants and offer holders for all Business Innovation and Creative Industries programmes.
The lecture by Prof. Archibugi will cover the following themes:
- The evolution of employment and value added in the different sectors of the economy.
- The purpose of innovation in the manufacturing and in the service industries.
- Patterns of entrepreneurship in manufacturing industries comparing the US and the UK.
- Factors influencing the growth of the manufacturing and services sector in the UK and US economies.
- Typologies of innovation in manufacturing and services.
