GISRUK is the largest academic conference in Geographic Information Science in the UK. Since 1993, GISRUK has attracted international researchers and practitioners in GIS and cognate fields, including geography, computer science, data science, and urban planning to share the latest advances in spatial computing and analysis.
This year, GISRUK will take place as a fully online event over three days from Tuesday 21st to Thursday 23rd of July 2020. The whole conference will be fully open and free (£0) and is co-organised by University College London and Birkbeck, University of London.

The conference will host more than 50 research presentations by international scientists and researchers, with the following keynote speakers:
Mark Birkin (Professor of Spatial Analysis and Policy in the School of Geography, University of Leeds)
Tao Cheng (Professor of Geoinformatics, Dept. of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering, University College London)
Krzysztof Janowicz (Professor of Geographic Information Science and Geoinformatics, Dept. of Geography, University of California, Santa Barbara)
Bruno Sánchez-Andrade Nuño (Principal Scientist at Microsoft "AI for Earth")
A social event will feature live interviews with:

Denise McKenzie (Director of the Benchmark Initiative at Geovation, UK)
Monica Stephens (Dept. of Geography at the University at Buffalo, USA, and Durham University, UK)
The conference theme this year is Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Urban Analytics. In recent years, AI has re-emerged as a hot topic in science and technology and is beginning to see applications across the geospatial sciences, notably in urban analytics. In addressing this theme, GISRUK 2020 aims to bring together the best research in AI in the geospatial community and provide a forum for discussing how AI could and should be used in the future.
