What makes people happy and communities flourish?
Sharing the practical lessons of happiness and wellbeing research
Join us for a 3 week programme taking place on 18th and 25th April and 2nd May. These 2 hour sessions, led by David Tross, Associate Lecturer at Birkbeck will explore the 'Big 7' of happiness and well-being:
- relationships
- money
- work
- community life
- health
- autonomy
- purpose
We will discuss the ways in which happiness is influenced by both individual and social factors and consider the idea of happiness in relation to our goals, desires. everyday lives and experiences.
David Tross has taught and coordinated courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level at Birkbeck for 5 years, including Community Development and Public Policy, Career and Professional Development, Introduction to HE and the UK Voluntary and Community Sector. He is also a research student in the school focusing on happiness and wellbeing in the UK.
