Birkbeck has launched a new programme, 'Birkbeck Inspires', a free online events, activities and resources programme designed to inspire learning, provoke thought, and entertain and excite curious minds.
The models that project future sea level rise due to climate change have to make some big assumptions about how ice sheets work, which is complicated and not fully understood. In this Birkbeck Inspires session, Dr Becky Briant, Reader in Quaternary Science, will explore the limits of what is known and the areas of uncertainty that still remain, to see how worried people living at the coast should actually be about the future of their homes. There will also be an opportunity for a question and answer session with Dr Briant.
