Reform inside Economic & Monetary Union and the limits of parliamentary government: the case of Greece
When:
—
Venue:
Online
This Jean Monnet Chair event brings together practitioners and academics for the purpose of discussing the handling of the crisis in a parliamentary democracy that is a member of the Eurozone. What are the challenges that parliamentary democracy posed in that process? How did policy makers perceive these challenges and how did they deal with them? To what extent if at all, did parliamentary democracy prove to be incompatible with the radical changes initiated by the crisis? What are the implications of a) the EU’s incomplete parliamentarisation for the handling of crises such as this? These are some of the questions that will underpin this event. All speakers will speak in their personal capacity only. A Q&A session will follow.
With the support of the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union
