The Legal Practice Conversation series aims to provide students with first-hand insight into how law works in practice – and an opportunity to ask a legal practitioner about careers in law.

At this event David Isaac will be talking with Professor Daniel Monk about his career working as a solicitor and as a human rights activist. The conversation will explore transformations in the legal profession and the use of law in bringing about change.

About the Speaker

David Isaac qualified as a solicitor in 1980 and worked first at Morgan Cole and subsequently at international law firm Pinsent Masons as a Partner, Head of the firm's Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Sector and Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion group.

He has worked in the equality and human rights field for over 25 years in a variety of capacities including: Chair of OxAIDS in the 1980s/90s, Chair of the LGBT campaign organisation Stonewall (2003-2012) and most recently as Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (2016-2020). He is currently Chair of the Governors of University of the Arts London and Provost elect of Worcester College, Oxford.
