Research Colloquium on Populism
When:
—
Venue:
Birkbeck 43 Gordon Square
No booking required
This one-day workshop marks the end of our reading group that started in the Autumn of 2017, bringing together academics from Birkbeck College, LSE, Queen Mary, Kings College, Goldsmith, Essex and UCL. The workshop seeks to bring into an open forum fresh and compelling insights about contemporary populist experiences. In particular and through a critical engagement with Laclau's theory of populism, we will address its implications for aesthetics, affect, hegemony, ontology, representation and sovereignty.
