Birkbeck Forum for Nineteenth-Century Studies marks the 200th anniversary of Walt Whitman’s birth with two papers that examine his reception in Victorian Britain. Prof. Michael Robertson (The College of New Jersey) will be giving a paper on “A Male World of Love and Ritual: Walt Whitman’s Bolton Disciples” and Linda Freeman (UCL) will be giving a paper on “Prophets of Democracy? Blake and Whitman.”
