Father-Child Connectivities as a Mode of Livability in OEJ (Occupied East Jerusalem)

Organizer: Bruna Seu

Speaker: Abeer Otman (Birkbeck, University of London)

My research examines father-child connectivities in OEJ  while paying special attention to the psychosocial connectivities and the way in which it has been reshaped to face mundane militarization and structural dispossession. This research aims to answer the question of how father-child psychosocial connectivity practices, modes, and spaces in OEJ interrupt state violence as a way of resisting an ongoing wounding and oppression and insist on the rights of fathers and children to a safe family life, protected  home, dignity and the maintenance of love amidst dismemberment.
