2020 sees the 20th anniversary since the launch of the Football Foundation – the UK’s largest sports charity and a unique collaboration between the Premier League, The FA and government.

In that time the Foundation has developed 16,000 community sports projects worth more than £1.6 billion.  This includes more than 1,000 pavilions, 3,500 grass pitches and nearly 900 all-weather playing surfaces.

However, the Foundation and its partners have only just got started.  They have now produced a long-term vision that seeks to effect a step-change in rebuilding this country’s grassroots football infrastructure – and unlocks all of the health and social benefits that take place at these community spaces.

Underpinned by a comprehensive national strategy, sophisticated delivery and evaluation systems, and an engaging marketing campaign, grassroots football is set to be unrecognisable in a decade’s time for the millions of people who play it each week – and in a very good way.

In this presentation, the Football Foundation’s Head of Communications, Rory Carroll, will outline this exciting strategy, and the business approaches that the Foundation and its partners have developed to deliver it.
