Venue:
Birkbeck Main Building, Malet Street
The Birkbeck Public Engagement Awards recognise and celebrate researchers undertaking innovative and exemplary public engagement activities. In particular, we celebrate research that builds on Birkbeck's tradition of socially engaged research and the College's historical mission to engage with a wide and diverse range of people outside of academia.
This year's event is a special one. It is the first in-person public engagement awards ceremony since 2019. Come to celebrate and learn about the inspiring work our researchers have been engaged in since then. Winners of the awards will be announced in the following categories:
Sharing and Inspiring:For initiatives that share research with the public, inspiring thought, reflection and imagination.
Innovation: For projects that have adapted to the Covid-19 pandemic by innovating methods to engage the public with research.
Public Participation: For engagement that has the active participation of publics in the creation of research.
Public Empowerment: For projects based on the active sharing and development of research with the public that empowers those involved and wider society.
RSVP by Wednesday 6 July.
