An event produced by Aldaterra Projects with Alda Terracciano and Vicky Alvarez exploring the role of Latin American community members around a collective action to save the Wards Corner indoor market in Seven Sisters, north London, from corporate development. The event includes a hair salon experience with the Colombian trader and hairdresser Teresa Loaiza, and the screening of Caminos de la Memoria, a short documentary using video testimonies collected by Alda Terracciano in 2017 as part of a series of memory workshops exploring the heritage value of the market for the local community and the role of Latino women in keeping it alive through everyday cultural practices.

Alda Terracciano is an artist, curator, and researcher, who has worked with diverse communities in Britain and abroad. She is director of Aldaterra Projects, an arts organisation fostering the exploration of new and hybrid artistic practices through discursive and visual representations of cross-cultural identities in Britain.

Vicky Alvarez is a Colombian woman and market trader at the Wards Corner indoor market. Vicky has been with others at the forefront of the local community action to re-open the market for the continued benefit of Latinos and the wider community in Tottenham.

Teresa Loaiza is a Colombian market trader, beautician and hairdresser.
