Venue:

A devised performance with live bread, in response to the life and visions of medieval mystic Margery Kempe.
Margery: a devised performance with live bread, in response to the life and visions of medieval mystic Margery Kempe: Were her visions heavenly or heretical? Was she really married to Jesus or trying to avoid sex with her husband? Can you be a virgin having given birth 14 times? Saint or self-serving celebrity? Created and performed by students on the MFA Theatre Directing programme. The performance will be followed by a discussion about Margery Kempe and the performance with the cast and Professor Anthony Bale, the translator of The Book of Margery Kempe, the first biography in the English language.
