The European Parliament is the institutional expression of one of the EU’s two sources of legitimacy, namely European citizens. It has been recently put under the spotlight due to the ‘Qatargate’ scandal. How difficult is it to report what the European Parliament is and does? What is ‘Qatargate’ and how does it relate to the legitimacy of the EU? What should be done to prevent similar scandals from happening again in the future? What are the implications of this scandal for the EP and the EU more broadly?
These are some of the issues that will be discussed during this event that brings together eminent speakers
The event will start with the screening of the first episode of the famous Parlement series (26 minutes, English sub-titles)
