World-renowned historian Marcus Rediker (University of Pittsburgh) will lead a workshop related to his work-in-progress as curator of the Turner collection in Tate Britain. Taking his approach to 'history from below', famously showcased in previous books The Many-Headed Hydra (with Peter Linebaugh), The Slave Ship and The Amistad Rebellion, into the field of fine and visual arts, Rediker will lead a discussion on hitherto ignored possibilities in the history of art and politics. Marcus Rediker's most recent book is The Fearless Benjamin Lay: The Quaker Dwarf who became the First Revolutionary Abolitionist (Verso, 2017)
