Abstract 

As the 'Road to Wonder' summary report is released in the UK, a study which stems from a recognition of the current barriers to innovation and entrepreneurship by disabled people, as well as the socio economic benefits of finding ways to overcome them see. This unique insight moves us closer to creating the 2030 Agenda Paradigm Shift where disabled people are no longer seen as burdens to society but contributing citizens who when appropriately resourced not only contribute to but lead on the creation of innovation and enterprise. As academia in the field of inclusive entrepreneurship grows the debate is no longer focusing on the barriers but the real and sustainable global solutions to increasing inclusive entrepreneurship.

Our chair, Jacqueline Winstanley will be joined by Dr Jonathan Potter, Rachel Parker, Sassy Wyatt, Sara McKee and Shani Dhanda pre-recorded to further this exciting discussion.

 

Biographies 

Chair – Jacqueline Winstanley (Universal Inclusion)

Jacqueline Winstanley is a global strategist and innovator. She is a recognised expert and consultant on accessibility and inclusion challenges. Through her work with Universal Inclusion, Fluidity UK and The Inclusive Entrepreneur, she is committed to the global development of Inclusive Cities & Societies especially within the workplace and access to services: developing and sharing cross sector good practice, championing rights and protections of disabled people and others who face barriers to life’s opportunities. 

Jonathan Potter, OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities

Dr Potter is Head of the Entrepreneurship Policy and Analysis Unit in the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities (CFE). He has 25 years’ OECD experience in advising governments in this field. He leads OECD work on inclusive entrepreneurship –including assessment of policies to support women, youth, immigrants, the unemployed, seniors, people with disabilities, and other under-represented and disadvantaged groups in entrepreneurship.

He recently directed work for an OECD paper on Supporting-persons-with-disabilities-in-entrepreneurship. He also directs the two-yearly OECD flagship publication series with the European Commission on The Missing Entrepreneurs The missing entrepreneurs 2021, and the online self-assessment and guidance tool on inclusive entrepreneurship for policy makers – the Better Entrepreneurship Policy Tool (www.betterentrepreneurship.eu). He also leads OECD work on entrepreneurial ecosystems, impact evaluation of SME and entrepreneurship policy and the OECD series of Country Reviews of SME and entrepreneurship policies. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge.
