Academic skills workshop: Harvard referencing basics for Film, Media and Journalism students

When:
Venue: Online

Please note that this workshop is for film, media and journalism students. However, if you are studying another subject but need to use Harvard referencing in your assessments, you may also find this workshop helpful.

The author-date referencing system is one of the most common ways to cite sources in academic writing. Harvard is a specific style which uses the uthor-date system.

Film, media and journalism students students at Birkbeck are asked to use either MHRA or the Harvard style for referencing in their assessments. This workshop will introduce the Harvard system more generally, and then review how to cite books, book chapters, journal articles and websites/blogs using the Harvard style. We will finish by considering online resources to use for guidance on citing other less common types of sources in the Harvard style.

Book your place.
