Come and join us for our MA Museum Cultures programme Offer Holder afternoon.

MA Museum Cultures programme is a part of the School of Historical Studies.

You will have the opportunity to chat with our staff Dr Kasia Tomasiewicz and find out more about the programme.

Kasia is a cultural historian with expertise in museum theory and practice, memory studies, and post-war and contemporary British history.

Our MA Museum Cultures combines study of the history and cultural significance of museums with opportunities for professional museum experience. If you are contemplating a career in the museum and gallery sector, this course provides you with the perfect opportunity to study this expanding and dynamic field in close proximity to world-distinguished museums and galleries.

Birkbeck also boasts an incredibly popular work placement programme - with many MA students joining in order to gain vital experience in museums as diverse as the National Portrait Gallery, St Paul's Cathedral, and The Science Musuem, to name just a few.

Birkbeck has an international reputation for its innovative approaches to the history of art, visual culture and museum studies, and attracts a rich programme of visiting scholars and practitioners. We are home to the History and Theory of Photography Research Centre, the Architecture, Space and Society Centre, the Centre for Museum Cultures and the Vasari Research Centre.

Birkbeck was ranked as one of the top four universities in the UK for its Art and Design research in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.

Birkbeck teaching takes place in the evening, leaving you free to study, volunteer or explore London during the day.

This event will be online.
