Welcome to the second BIRMAC (Birkbeck's Centre for Interdisciplinary Resarch on Media and Culture) Writing Culture reading group. The reading group is student-led and will include books suggested by MA and PHD students at or around Birkbeck. This second session is on Chinua Achebe's last book, "There Was a Country". We will be reading the book and discussing it with literary anthropologist, Professor Rogers Orock (Louisiana State University), as guest. Prof. Orock will be sharing some of the insights from his recent work on literary postcolonial decadance and Achebe, published in the journal, Africa. All are welcome.
