Managing your finances when being a student can be a tricky business, which is why this year's National Student Money Week has a theme of 'Breaking Bad Money Habits', where Birkbeck's Student Advice team and the Student Union will be providing free student savvy money tips with a range of interactive activities, competitions and workshops!
If you're an enrolled UG/PG student, come visit us in the Student Advice Centre between 4-7:30pm all week to discover our money saving possibilities, claim some freebies, and give yourself the chance of winning great prizes, from food baskets to Amazon vouchers!

Wednesday, 4-7:30 (NatWest Financial Health Check and Friends Against Scams Stall - Advice Centre)
Have a chat and receive advice from NatWest personal bankers on how best to assess your finances and also the opportunity to book yourself in for a free Financial Health Check. You can also get clued up on how to avoid falling victim to fraudulent scams through the NatWest Friends Against Scams initiative. This will help educate you on how to keep your money safe and secure and take a stand against scams.
Wednesday, 6-9pm (NatWest Workshop - MAL G20)
Money & Me Workshop with NatWest bank, where financial experts will guide you through a range of exciting activities and team games to help change the way you think about money. With food and refreshments provided, as well as £50 cash prizes to be won, this FREE workshop is an exceptional way to build on your money management.

Our Student Union and Citizen's Advice Bureau representative will be available to discuss what benefits you may be entitled to as a student. Changing welfare systems and how to claim can be confusing and intimidating, but our experts are on site to provide advice and guidance
Thursday, 5-6pm (Benefit Workshop - MAL G20)
Our Citizen's Advice Bureau representative will be running a workshop to cover the range of benefits FT and PT students may be eligible for, covering topics such as making a claim, appealing a decision, and the impact Universal Credit may have. No booking required.
