Get Ahead, Stay Ahead: Zotero for managing references - a live, online demonstration for postgraduate students
When:
—
Venue:
Online
Zotero is a free, open-source, online tool for managing references. This live demonstration will cover:
- Downloading Zotero onto your computer
- Using it to capture online resources automatically.
- Organising references
- Using Zotero with Word so you can add references to essays quickly and easily in MS Word.
The workshop will address multiple academic referencing styles including Harvard and MHRA. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions during the session.
Law students are advised not to attend this workshop. A different reference management tool called 'Endnote' is more suited to their needs because it works better with Lexis. UCL has a useful guide to Endnote.
This workshop will be repeated at various times throughout the academic year. There is also an online tutorial that covers all the key skills. There is more advice on academic referencing generally in the Birkbeck Study Skills module in Moodle.
This online workshop will take place on MS Teams
All our workshops are repeated numerous times throughout the academic year. The resources and a recording of this workshop will be available in the Study skills resources section of the Birkbeck Study Skills Moodle module (student login required).
