Come and join us for our MA History of Art Offer Holder afternoon.

MA History of Art is a part of the School of Historical Studies.

You will have the opportunity to chat with our staff Suzannah Biernoff and find out more about the programme.

Suzannah is current research is focused on cinema and the unbeautiful, investigates the ways in which film has created, perpetuated, and challenged stereotypes of facial difference over the past century.

Our MA History of Art exposes you to key art historical approaches and allows you to focus in depth on areas and periods of particular interest to you, in early and modern (including contemporary) periods. It develops your visual acuity and your understanding of art's histories, while stimulating critical debate and stretching your research skills.

This postgraduate degree offers you the opportunity to study with internationally recognised experts. 

Birkbeck was ranked as one of the top four universities in the UK for its Art and Design research in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework.

Birkbeck teaching takes place in the evening, leaving you free to study, volunteer or explore London during the day.
