How does the brain learn concepts that are based on other concepts? How does the brain recognizes a girl with a mandolin in the Picasso painting with the same name? In this talk we’ll explore how hierarchically-structured data can be represented, learned, and recognized in feed-forward layered Spiking Neural Networks. Specifically, we provide formal definitions for concept hierarchies and layered neural networks.
