These days, we often access a majority of our sources online. However, it’s important to understand that just because we access them online, that doesn’t mean that all sources are just ‘websites’. We need to be able to distinguish between different types of sources, so that we can (a) evaluate their appropriateness for academic study in Higher Education, and (b) cite (reference) them accurately in our assignments.
This session will review different types of sources and provide practice in identifying source types accurately for when you’re researching and writing your assignments. This will include scholarly journal articles, newspaper articles, books, websites, blogs and various kinds of official reports. It will also include case law for those studying law, and the difference between a law report and an academic journal.
