Academic honesty (also known as academic integrity) is a crucial principle of higher education. In its most basic form, you might think of it as not cheating. If you don’t study with academic honesty, you may end up having problems with allegations of academic misconduct, such as plagiarism. Such allegations may lead to lower grades or having to redo assessments or even repeat whole modules. So it’s incredibly important to understand what academic honesty is and how you can ensure that you study with academic integrity. This also involves understanding what plagiarism is and how you can avoid it.

This session will cover what academic honesty is, how it relates to plagiarism, and how to avoid plagiarism and study with academic honesty.
