The conference addresses the mental health of children and families in occupied Palestine, exploring the psychological and relational impacts of oppression and the denial of human rights. This focus on childhood will include experiences of arrest and imprisonment as well as children’s participation in Palestinian social and political life and their modes of resistance to occupation.
Friday Screening:
On the evening of Friday March 8th (18:00-21:00) there will be a screening of the film compilation 'Surviving Childhood'. This film features the the voices, actions and experiences of Palestinian children, representing experiences from the West Bank, Gaza and from refugee camps outside Palestine. The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion in which participants will describe their own childhood experiences from different phases of Palestinian life from 1948 onwards.
Following the screening, Professor Lynne Segal will share her reflections, and then a panel discussion will take place.

This event is free but is only available to those who have booked for the main Palestinian Childhoods conference on Saturday March 9th. Places for the film screening will automatically be included in your ticket.
