As Birkbeck enters its third century, we’d like to invite you to join us on Wednesday 16th October for the official launch of Birkbeck’s Interdisciplinary Research Centre for Environment and Sustainability (E&S).
The evening will showcase some of our current research excellence that is already helping to inform and guide approaches to how society tackles one of the largest global challenges of our lifetime, ranging from uninsurability in the face of natural hazards and interactions between archaeology, rewilding and regenerative tourism to reducing risk in building low-carbon infrastructure through understanding geology. It will also preview future projects, including researching food and community in London and geohazards in Asia.
There will be the opportunity to meet and connect with likeminded organisations, sector leaders, students and alumni and learn more about the values and ambitions of our new Centre.
