Designing for Extended Reality (XR) Introductory Workshop

This workshop run by Birkbeck Associate Lecturer Helena Wee will introduce students to the basics of designing extended reality experiences by learning the fundamentals of frameworks like WebXR and A-Frame. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone curious about virtual, augmented, and mixed reality technologies and interested in taking the first steps towards creating their first XR experiences. No previous coding or design knowledge is needed. 

The workshop will cover topics such as: basic setup and getting started; creating and working with 3D primitives; importing models and textures; basic animation techniques; and working with 360° video.

    Helena Wee is an Associate Lecturer on the MA Digital Media Design at Birkbeck. She is also a practicising digital artist and PhD candidate in the School of Creative Arts, Culture and Communciation.
