ECR network on co-production of health research
When:
—
Venue:
Birkbeck Main Building, Malet Street
This event is for doctoral students and staff at Birkbeck only. Please register with your @bbk.ac.uk email address.
The Wellcome IFRC grant includes funding for activities leading towards the formation of a network of ECR researchers interested in the co-production of knowledge in health research.
If you are an ECR (PhD, postdoc, first academic post) and you are interested in this area either in relation to your current research or you planned future research, we would love to meet you at the inaugural event.
If you supervise or line-manage ECRs who are working on (broadly) health-related research, please encourage colleagues to attend.
The inaugural meeting will be a space to discuss people's experiences of doing health research at Birkbeck, consider synergies between ECR non-health research and health research, and timetable events to build the network. Lunch is provided.
We are proposing that the network have the following activities:
A film series on coproduction of knowledge/lived experience and health with discussion.
A reading group on the same theme (runs concurrently with film series).
A grant development workshop to understand the landscape of health funding.
Attendance at health-related conferences to build their knowledge/networks (by application, and has to be two people going to same conference) in UK or Europe.
Development of a resources/contact list for doing research with people with lived experience.
A symposium in October 2025 that develops from these activities and with invited speakers the ECR health co-production of knowledge/lived experience network want to connect with.
We are open to other suggestions for the best way to develop and consolidate co-production of health research at Birkbeck and beyond
