Thriving with ADHD
When:
—
Venue:
Birkbeck Main Building, Malet Street
This is an in-person session for Birkbeck Students run by the Counselling Service and the Study Skills team
Overview
This in-person session will provide a supportive space for students living with ADHD symptoms. The session has been developed by Birkbeck’s Counselling Services and Study Skills team.
Further information
The session will have an exercise designed to prompt discussion about different dimensions of living with ADHD symptoms. It will then be followed by a more open space where you will have the opportunity to reflect and discuss more broadly any issues raised. The aim is to provide an informed and supportive forum for students who may find they experience the following:
- Difficulty focusing on a task
- Difficulty prioritizing and poor planning
- Trouble following instructions and completing tasks
- Trouble multitasking
The workshop will be in two parts: the first, an exercise to guide discussion about living with characteristics of ADHD. This will be followed by an open reflective space to acknowledge the impact, and identify shared experiences, benefits and strategies. We believe in the power of groups and how you can also learn from each other's experiences.
What this session is not
This is not a diagnostic or clinical session. We will not be able to advice you on how to get a diagnosis, medication and treatment or any other medical issues.
